TECHNOLOGY
(Court of the Abstracts)

THRONEHOLDER ⇢
Raven Reyes, from the 100.

Born on the Ark space station, plunged to Earth in a shuttle of her own reconstruction.

The youngest zero-G mechanic in 50 years, and the go-to gal for anything technology-related in the last vestiges of humanity.

Overview As far as Raven is concerned, the only technological progress they're going to make is the kind they piece together with their own hands. She recognizes that there's some legitimacy behind the presence of 'gods' here, but the amount of power they (and thus she) actually hold is way too nebulous for her liking. If you're going to worship the throne of technology, you'd better be ready to get grease on your hands. Tiers (0 pts) TIER 1: Survivalist technology. Aside from the communication devices each character has, this baseline tier allows characters to piece together approximately the same level of technology you'd have in the wake of an apocalypse. Which is to say: CB radios, lighters to create fire (when we have a Fire God), generators and occasional batteries to power low-tech lights, wood stoves, running water sometimes, flushing toilets, etc. Scrap metal, wires, and various other odds and ends for technology-based engineering or mechanical projects can be found only in the Temple of Technology. TIER 2 (25 pts): Congratulations! We're no longer living in a dilapidated shithole. Electricity now functions in homes. New technologies include cassette tape players, a dozen different music-oriented radio stations of unknown origin, hot water heaters (with limited capacity), refrigerators, and gas/electric stoves. Running water is now reliable, and batteries are easier to find. Scrap and supplies for technology-based engineering or mechanical projects can now be located sparsely throughout the city. TIER 3 (75 pts): Technology is becoming more convenient! We now have bicycles, microwaves, television, 16-bit video games, and MP3 players that still list songs as "Title_Artist_Name.mp3". For everything else, just assume a late 80's/early 90's level of technology. TIER 4 (150 pts): We are approaching the digital age! Laptops and tablets have become readily available. Also, motorized vehicles! Motorcycles and cars are now reasonable possessions to have. Homes can have surveillance systems. Video games are insanely realistic. Aircrafts are in early stages of development. At this tier, we've essentially caught up to 2018 America in technology. TIER 5 (250 pts): Technology is looking to the future. This stage is nebulous so far, but it definitely provides the supplies to dabble in stuff like rocketry and fully synthetic replacement organs (assuming Medicine has reached that tier yet). Think: Basically anything in the Information Age section. Also, knowing Raven? Probably some form of zero-G technology, too.
Temple Stepping inside the temple, you'd almost forget that you're living in a modern-day city. The inside of the temple is a pretty decent facsimile of the Ark, the space station on which Raven grew up. Surfaces are metal or nonskid plastic substitute. Throughout the temple, heavy steel doors open and close by motion sensor (90% of them), keypad, or key card. Hoses line the walls and ceilings, reminiscent of a time when they transported necessary oxygen or other such supplies. The throne room itself appears to be a workshop, littered with half-completed mechanical projects that Raven fully intends to come back to. The throne itself is a simple black swiveling stool, backless and wheeled, typically occupied by Raven's butt.
Worship & Offerings The best thing you can do to win Raven's favor is to get your hands dirty. Show an interest in mechanics of any kind, or even just a willingness to give her a hand with whatever project she's elbow-deep in at the moment. Aside from that, any kind of interesting scrap makes a great offering. Broken appliances, bits of metal and wire, anything really. She's good at this. She'll improvise.
Demigods & Followers Currently? Nobody. She's pretty much alone in her Temple of Tech, but it probably won't be that way for long.
